Hello Room 15 families. My name is Melanie Hirahara. This is my 30th year of teaching at Rio Seco. I love teaching at Rio Seco and being part of the school community. I grew up in Santee and attended Santana. I'm very proud of the education Santee provides the students of Santee.
When I am not at school, I love being with my family. My husband, Lance and I have been married for 26 years and have two fabulous kids. Allison is 24 and recently got married and works for the county in Public Health. Austin is 22 and is currently attending classes at Grossmont Community College and works as an assistant manager at Cotton On in Riverside. Although we didn't get to do family vacation this summer we enjoy hanging out together and watching Padres.
In my spare time, I love to read and spend a lot of time scrapbooking my family's photos and memories.
