Hello Families,
My name is Katie Moran, and I am extremely excited to be working with you and your child this year.
A little bit about myself....
I am a San Diego native, born and raised in El Cajon and graduated from El Capitan High School. After graduation I went to Grossmont College, where I thought I wanted to be a Dental Hygienist; but that all changed once I got a job as a Special Education Aide in Lakeside. I completely fell in love with working with students with learning disabilities and socio-emotional struggles in life. It was then that I decided to change my major and become a Special Education Teacher. I transferred to Cal State San Marcos, where I completed my undergrad and 2 credential programs (Multiple Subject and Mild/Moderate). I later went on to get my Masters in Special Education.
I have been teaching now for 8 years. I taught a 2/3 combo class for 2 years and have been a special education teacher for 6 years now. I have truly enjoyed working in Santee and am happy to be able to do what I love.
In the last year and a half, my husband and I have had two wonderful boys: Michael 1.5 years and Luke 7 months. They bring us so much joy and I am certainly outnumbered in my home.
I look forward to an exciting and rewarding year for your child and look forward to meeting all of you.
